FAQ - Epoch Now! for iPhone & iPod Touch
Epoch Now! uses standard iPhone-style user interfaces for a familiar look and feel. Simply press one of the conversion buttons at the bottom of the screen and you're off and running. Pick a date and time by using the built-in picker controls, and an epoch will be calculated. Likewise, enter your own epoch to get back the date and time, or press the reset button to get back to today's date, time, and epoch.
For the purposes of the Epoch Now! application, an epoch refers to the number of seconds that have passed since midnight, January 1, 1970. It is a commonly used reference timestamp, sometimes called a UNIX timestamp, for applications in both the personal and mobile computing application spaces.
